When you hit your plateau, what did you do?
I sought a professional to help me go further. I was working with another professional, but it only took me as far as he knew. He brought me up as much as he could. I recognized this and looked for someone with more experience. That’s when I found the Coach Edson Prado.
You never come off your diet, you never have sweets?
Yes I do come off my diet. But 90% of the time these “slips” are planned. Today, coming off my strict diet is something I plan for. But before I had this much self-control, yes I slipped and ate sweets.
What was your diet and workouts at the beginning?
I started at a weight loss clinic with a very strict diet. And I started my physical activities with zumba.
How did you maintain your focus in social outings? How is your social life now?
At first, I avoided all social outings, to focus 100% on my change. Today, I have more control and can stay focused. I can go easily go to any event. I always take my food, and depending on where I am, I can adapt well.
How do you say no?
I know what I want! And VERY MUCH wanted to change my lifestyle. I could not compromise it for anything. As hard as it was and even annoying to say no, it was essential to my change.
Did you have a personal trainer and/or nutritionist and during what period?
Yes I did. In the beginning, I was accompanied by a weight loss clinic with a doctor and a nutritionist.
When I left the clinic, I sought a personal trainer. I was trained for 6 months and moved on to another one. With the second personal trainer, I trained for nine months and when I wanted to challenge myself further, I sought a coach with more experience. The Coach guides me in nutrition, supplementation, training and helps with the emotional battle to remain grounded and always improve. He is always pushing me to the limit and working my mind and emotions to push through obstacles.
Do you drink alcohol?
No, I never drank. I do not like anything with alcohol.
Your initial and current weight? Height?
My initial weight was 120kg (about 264lbs), 68kg (about 150lbs) Current and height 1.65m (about 5ft 5in).
How much did you lose and how long did it take you?
I’ve lost 53 kg (about 117 lbs) in three years.
My weight always fluctuates as I gain and lose lean body mass.
