For those who follow me on social media should already know how I feel about “a cheat day” “cheat meals Or rather “free meals.”
How do I feel about cheat meals?
Have you reached your goal? This response is the key for me to answer what I believe.
At first, without much knowledge … I was following a combination of everything I saw and read on Instagram (do not do that), like an idiot, I tried to do and eat everything the fitness muses ate and did (still love, follow and admire them), but I never thought .. “uh, am I doing the right thing for my current situation?” So like the loyal follower I also allowed myself to have cheat day six months after I started my weight loss journey.
The cheat day on my weight loss journey
After I had lost a lot of weight .. I had eliminated more than 60 pounds. I thought I could release myself a little more .. For approximately six months without eating any garbage, I though to myself “ok, I think I’ve already sacrificed a lot, right ?? Wrong !!
How nice that I lost over 60 pounds and I was following a good regime for six months without cheating on my diet. But I had not reached the ultimate goal! If I had allowed myself a meal one time or another, maybe it would be different, but unfortunately, it was not like that. It was a whole cheat day on a weekly basis.
5 steps forward and 3 steps back.
It was during the time that I created a goal to run the super spartan! I started allowing myself more and more cheat meals. But I still had a compulsive eating problem and didn’t have full control of the situation yet. At the time, I had a personal trainer that guided me in training, but did not have guidance in how to eat properly for my goals. So that’s when I hit a plateau and does not see results or changes in my body.
Cheat day = temporary sacrifice
I think it is already clear how I feel about cheat days. Who saw my video on temporary sacrifice? (Not in English 😁😞 sorry) I made it clear there.
Cheat days are not a crime!
There is no crime, it is not sinful to eat off your diet. Life is about choices, you make your own decisions.. I’m only registering my opinions and views on the subject. Opinions and views of someone that have gone through the experience.
I also dos this post to respond to frustration I see when people write me. It’s actually the one I get more often. “I can not change” “I do not see a result” “My process is taking too long.”
My opinion …
Why are you not see results ? you are following a clean, balanced diet and are you training enough? So what’s going on? Is it your cheat days? Have you reached your goal? If not, why you are doing cheat days?
But I have to enjoy life.
Yes of course! There is nothing wrong with that! But where is the sacrifice? Where’s the effort? If you have priorities, make them count!
But Remember … The body does not know the difference between Monday’s , Saturday’s or Sundays. Just because you go out of your diet on Saturday and Sunday does not mean your body won’t count those calories. It does count, and has a lot !!
You do not have cheat days?
You do not have cheat days and still do not see the desired results?
Let’s talk about that next week 🙂
